Kure-nai 08

Curse you Vadigor, were it not for your insistence I would have been able to happily skip over this week’s Kure-nai in lieu of a day’s rest and some time to contemplate my Anime North Con Report. But I suppose it’s my fault for mentioning it and one of my key mission statements is to listen to reader feedback, you wanted it so you’ve got it.

Code Geass R2 08, Labor Force: Zero

Watashi wa Zero, woof

Great episode, despite the plan being a bit far fetched and presumptuous, as well as a blatant ripoff of V for Vendetta. And FINA-FUCKING-LY Lulu manages to pull something off without Suzaku getting in the way, bonus that Lulu actually based the entire plan on the faggot’s personality. Although I can’t help but wonder how Lulu is going to get away with playing dumb when it comes to being Zero when he returns to Ashford, if he does, that is.

Macross Frontier 08, QUALITY

I was expecting some sub-par animation to compensate for the money they blew on last week’s dogfight and penis cannon battle, but I wasn’t expecting it to have the episode nearly rendered unwatchable. Anime North 2008

Just a heads up, I’ll be at Anime North for the duration of this weekend so my Macross Frontier, Code Geass and, by extension, Kure-nai posts will be delayed a day or two. If I’m not too tired afterwards, I might throw up a con report (a.k.a. how my wallet found itself $400 lighter).

Edit: Con report is up.

Kure-nai 07, hypocrisy incarnate

I see a pedo!

This was a weird episode of Kurenai, it placed a lot of focus on Tamaki, who has thus far been nothing but a comedic relief side character. Kure-nai has come off as more slice of life than anything else thus far, which would account for the time spent on delving into Tamaki’s character. However, at the episode we’re given an indication that Kure-nai will be getting back to its main plot elements soon, making Tamaki’s character exposition seem like a grand waste of time.

I was actually going to skip doing this entry since I was feeling lazy, thank Vadigor for giving me the motivation to do it.
