I see a pedo!

This was a weird episode of Kurenai, it placed a lot of focus on Tamaki, who has thus far been nothing but a comedic relief side character. Kure-nai has come off as more slice of life than anything else thus far, which would account for the time spent on delving into Tamaki’s character. However, at the episode we’re given an indication that Kure-nai will be getting back to its main plot elements soon, making Tamaki’s character exposition seem like a grand waste of time.

I was actually going to skip doing this entry since I was feeling lazy, thank Vadigor for giving me the motivation to do it.

Phallic cannon is phallic

So for all my incessant complaining about Macross Frontier’s animation being QUALITY for the past couple episodes, at least the reasoning for doing so became apparent from this episode’s kick ass CG and above average animation. The effect was slightly lost in Gattai’s artifact heavy encoding job. But hey, at least they got it on time…[/sarcasm]. Just kidding guys, keep up the good work.

GAAAY

Not the greatest of episodes, as it amounted to little more than Lelouch angsting around until he reaffirmed his will to continue fighting as Zero. But damn was it ever nice to see Lulu pulling off one of his plans without Suzaku screwing it up somehow, he even gets a bit of a surprise at the end when Lulu agrees to Nunnally’s terms while hovering in Lacelot’s sights, a moment which could only have been made more awesome if MC Hammer’s You Can’t Touch This started playing the the background.

Gaaaay

Eh, can’t say I enjoyed this episode much, which is probably an extension of the fact that I hate Black Star. He’s been given the title of Naruto-lite and anything that’s associated with Naruto is fail by default. On that note, I’m surprised Kishimoto hasn’t just given up and renamed “Naruto” to “Sasuke”, or alternatively “The Uchiha Chronicles”, or better yet, he could just put us out of our misery and stop writing altogether.

Anyways, I digress, I can bash Sasuke at a later date, back to Soul Eater.

Judging from the comment density on my Kure-nai posts and the fact that not a single person even noticed when I skipped blogging it for a week, this is my least read series. Which I find rather strange as it’s a really damn good show.

Case and point, this episode made me laugh more than any single anime episode in recent history. The sheer WTF and combined hilarity of the impromptu musical was pure brilliance.
