Mebbe the next few episodes will prove me wrong, but right now it seems like the writers are going, "Ok, so we set of this really philosophical jumping off point, e.g. Casshern has killed the world and feels really bad about it, so we shouldn't have to put any genuine developement into that for the next 20 episodes or so. Just make Casshern a little more than suicidal and we should be good to go until we hit the end of season change of heart." @Panther: See, thats what I’m not sure I buy just yet. Still, they also do a good job of blending the ongoing with the past, and gradually letting his history emerge while he travels. A very good touch.
