Gokigenyou.

Yet another call to arms, this time by my better half with an XY chromosome (sorry lolikit, title reserved, 3 x 0.5 =/= 1) lolikit. Having blogged my fair share of absolutely nothing for the past few months and winter break not too far away, I figure it’s time to jump back on the episodic bandwagon. Unfortunately the damn thing rode so far into the distance that I have no clue what’s going on anymore. But I do know that Maria-sama ga Miteru is primed to return for its fourth installment, the third season being thinly veiled as OVAs despite really being a full length 12 episode series divided into fewer, but chunkier releases.

Maria-sama ga Miteru follows the lives of the students of Lillian School For Girls, a prestigious, and therefore pretentious all girls school. Delving further into pretentiousness, the abundant and unquestioned proliferation of lesbian undertones in this school serves a gigantic middle finger raised to the opposing gender, whose appearances are so few and far between (save a few key characters) that they may as well not exist. Within this school exists the hierarchical “rose” system wherein three seniors and their personally chosen apprentices rule the school with an iron fist, using its resources at their whim for personal glorification and amusement. Yet they are so unpretentiously pretentious about it that the student body not only tolerates them, but reveres them as gods of sorts, their mere presence sending a trickle of warm female excretion down the side of the legs of their respective fan camps.

So in not so many words: It’s pretty awesome.

The plan is to blog this raw, but something tells me that I’ll fail in this regard, all in the spirit of the show of course, walking slowly is preferred and etc.

EDIT: I’m an idiot, and it’s not 2009!

EDIT2: Oookay…so apparently it is 2009!

I love you and your lack of humor, Silky. You’re always so fuckin’ straight-laced, even when talking about the funniest shit-pile this side of yuri anime.

    Wow.

    I think I got a little wet.

Welcome back to blogging. Just for the title of the post, I’ll follow this show. It may be more interesting watching it raw and interpreting what you think it’s going on than watching with subtitles and following the show’s actual plot.

…Sounds like “Rule of Rose: The Animation,” only not as sadistic, the girls look pretty and ripe for raping, and I don’t have to pay $20 for shitty gameplay…

I’ll probably pass on this one. o_o

On another note, welcome back for the time being. ^^; And you wouldn’t technically be wrong for putting Winter 2009 since Winter really starts on the 21st anyway.

Jay: It kinda helps if you’ve seen the first three series before. Plus the fact that the only potentially harmful thing about it to you might be the cheesy melodrama. :P

Welcome back my friend, I hope to see your posts around once again.

P.S. Silky it’s Winter 2009. Also Marimite airs in January (2009). Get your act together.

Silly Shirukii. Everyone knows you can’t have TWO better halves. :3

    @ lolikit: I hope you’re salivating…because if not…

@ bakaneko: Thanks. That is…if I manage to raw blog it.

@ Jay: Pft, you don’t know what you’re missing!

@ Calawain: I shall make a sincere effort not to disappoint.

    @ Lumi~: Noted, changed :3

    Get a room you two!

    Oh wait…

Anyway, I’m glad to see you’ll be able to find some time for writing, even though I won’t. >_>

And there was a third season/ova’s? I never heard about those before.

  10. on 11 Dec 2008 at 8:47 pmHey, it is that Linall guy

So how badly will I be maimed if I say that Maria†Holic looks like a far more interesting show?

Really though, nothing in the 2009 line-up strikes me as super interesting.

Ride Back looks like something I’ll follow, just like it did when it was coming out in Autumn too, so I dunno. That and Viper’s Creed looks like it might be ok as well.

Also Akikan! should make for a super hilarious train wreck that I want to be front and center for.

  11. on 11 Dec 2008 at 11:30 pmJay

Akikan FTW! Propose the idea Linall!

@Shirukii: If you knew what happened to me during Rule of Rose….eh…T_T

Just a few more weeks and I will be able to hear “Gokigenyou, Onee-sama” again.

Never thought I’d like the series when I saw the first season, now I can’t wait. And this announcement is just icing on the cake. Great to see you back on the needle Shirukii.

Fuck, you could call me one of your better thirds, or something.
