Yup, he died.

It’s official:  Okouchi (Writer of Geass) himself confirmed that Lelouch died.  I guess I won’t have to really wait for the Picture Dramas after all, since it won’t change anything, and there goes any ideas for R3 short of a retcon.  Thoughts anyone?

And yes, this is because I decided to read Code Trainwreck again after 3 weeks. ^^;

This blog is becoming Jay’s Blog fast.

  2. on 28 Oct 2008 at 8:15 amShirukii

    I’m still around ;_;

However, I have absolutely zero time to blog, and probably won’t until December hits. Even then it’ll be a little tricky D:

  3. on 28 Oct 2008 at 10:18 amHey, it is that Linall guy

Jay just has too much free time! Arghargh! Also, I have a post like half finished.

Stop makin’ me look bad Jay!

  4. on 28 Oct 2008 at 1:47 pmVadigor

Since when did dying ever actually keep someone dead in CG?

And with the start of a new year at uni I’ll most likely be joining the ranks of Shirukii.

    Or, god forbid, Soda…

  5. on 28 Oct 2008 at 1:51 pmkamikaz1_k

like dead dead or the prereq for CODE death? also is there be a scanslation of that >_

  6. on 28 Oct 2008 at 4:16 pmLumi~

@ Shirukii, Linall, and Vadigor: Excuses!

I bet you anything Shirukii is “busy” watching episode 25 of Planetes right now.

  7. on 28 Oct 2008 at 8:04 pmHey, it is that Linall guy

Ugh, Jesus don’t bother. What a fucking terrible ending to an otherwise amazing show.

Also, my excuse is that I am going to be in Kansas City getting plastered and no one wants me to blog drunk. Because I would not be entertaining at all.

  8. on 28 Oct 2008 at 10:07 pmlisaaa

Some people still think he is not dead
I dont know how much more confirmation people want!!

    RIP LULU!!

    *facepalm*

  9. on 28 Oct 2008 at 10:56 pmShirukii

@ Lumi~: Pretty much. Great show overall, weak ending. Fantastic slice of life arc and plot driven arcs, but neither half as good as what they could have been had the show given more focus to one or the other.

@ Linall: Too late, it is done.

I, for one, would like to see you attempt to blog drunk, I have a feeling it would be a hilarious endeavor for both readers and yourself.

  10. on 28 Oct 2008 at 11:25 pmHey, it is that Linall guy

It’s not going to happen while I am gone.

But my 21st birthday is coming up. So who knows, mebbe I will give drunk blogging a try. And then never again because it will just be a huge rant about how about 98% of anime sucks and I would refer to pictures but there would be no pictures.

  11. on 29 Oct 2008 at 1:55 amZeroblade

    Boo, idea killer :

  12. on 29 Oct 2008 at 4:42 amJay

Wow, we got way off topic haven’t we…

    @bakaneko: My employment here really is just a planned takeover until Shirukii surrenders his farm. ^^;

@Shirukii: You still need to finish Macross boss-man, even if it’s just a picture and a sentence a la “Kure-nai 12 review my ass!” Drop some thoughts into Clannad, I’m losing face with our audience! T_T

@Linall: Eh, the problem with me though is that my writing’s actually very bad, definitely not very analytical or raging with sarcastic hate like you and Shirukii do, so don’t feel bad. In fact, I’ll look forward to one of your drunk bloggings if you so partake in the near future. ^_^

    @Vadigor: Shirley… ;_;

And seeing as how you’ve only done one post since you got here, what exactly are we expecting once Uni hits for you!? O.O Noooooo…

@kamikaz1_k: Like “The writer of the series said so” dead. No scanlation, if you really want to make sure, there are the character’s names in katakana on Wiki if you really want to bother looking them all up.

@Lumi: Exactly! It’s not my fault the only things I have to look forward to during a week other than writing is answering phones! Damn kids and their studies.

@Zeroblade: Well, there’s always Taniguchi and retcons, right?…well, no, but you can go read some fanfi-…dear God, no…o_o

  13. on 29 Oct 2008 at 7:05 amLumi~

@ Shirukii: That’s what I said except you just put it in nicer words. :3

@ Linall: Seconding the drunken blogging! Oh, Linall, if there were ever a hipster equivalent of an anime fan, you’d certainly be it.

@ Jay: Of course, no one would ever blame you for having nothing to do all day! Way to hold down the fort, Jay. You’re a good man.

  14. on 29 Oct 2008 at 1:57 pmServbot

Didnt the writer have some problems with production? Maybe that is why he cut off any chance for an R3?

  15. on 29 Oct 2008 at 7:04 pmVadigor

@Jay: Looks like I got misunderstood, uni already started for me before the new fall season hit, which is why I haven’t posted anything, since I just don’t have the time to write something up. Even if I did, at this rate I doubt I’d manage to actually keep a consistent blogging schedule for even one series.

@Shirukii: I’m glad you decided to watch Planetes, since I told you you should ^^

  16. on 30 Oct 2008 at 12:14 amHangmen

Code Geass ain’t Bleach. Of course people will die in CG when they are killed, cept’ Orange and Nunnally.

Orange was really awesome in R2. Jumping out of an exploding Knightmare wielding a fukken’ sword. OH YEAH!

  17. on 31 Oct 2008 at 2:09 amTeclo

I still wouldn’t see it as him definitely dead. The fact is that he’s meant to have died, on the most obvious level. The end was meant to be ambiguous since we saw him die but then were given reason to suspect he’d survived (possibly by receiving CC’s code, hence fulfilling her wish to die) but it was still the “official” plot that he had died. I don’t see why the creator would mess that up not long after the show has finished.

I mean, all it would take is for them to decide to bring him back (I pray they won’t do that) and then they can say “Well we HAD to say that he’d died or else it would have ruined the ending!”

  18. on 31 Oct 2008 at 9:05 amErilex

Darn it, Monica is also confirmed as dead. And here I thought Sunrise characters were immune to mecha explosions. I guess that only applies to major characters.

small kanji is hard to read… so I don’t have all the names, particularly for the elevens, but, in chronological order…

That 25 million doesn’t sound right. Was the freya blast that big? Or it’s the total damage for the entire battle including deaths from Mt. Fuji.

But mostly, that’s a lot of Daltons!

  20. on 03 Nov 2008 at 5:17 pmHey, it is that Linall guy

Heyyyyyyyy, I’m back from Kansas City. Also, let me offer you guys some advice, don’t ever go to Kansas City. It sucks. Even the crazy huge convention center can’t make up for the fact that the city shuts down after 4 p.m. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrargh!

    Jay

Eh, the problem with me though is that my writing’s actually very bad, definitely not very analytical or raging with sarcastic hate like you and Shirukii do, so don’t feel bad. In fact, I’ll look forward to one of your drunk bloggings if you so partake in the near future. ^_^

Naw, I think you just beat yourself up too much. You should see how well the average person can write, it’s p. sad. Also, I’m p. sure that part of being anyone who writes for other people is hating your writing. But if you are adament about your wiriting sucking, sign up for a writing class when you start college/uni. I know my writing classes have improved my writing dramatically.

    Lumi~

Seconding the drunken blogging! Oh, Linall, if there were ever a hipster equivalent of an anime fan, you’d certainly be it.

I don’t see how having taste makes me a hipster.

Also, if I do anything drunk connected to anime it would be me and a couple of friends getting smashed and doing a rifftracks type thing. Dunno if I will ever get around to it though.

  21. on 03 Nov 2008 at 6:42 pmLumi~

@ Linall: I was only referring to the artistically elitist nature of hipsters, not any of the other faggotry that’s associated with them. Kay, so maybe instead you can be a very, very exclusive filter of some kind.

That actually sounds hilarious. You should definitely do it.

And if you ever have time, you should do a top 10 favourite anime post. At your preferred level of sobriety, of course.
(That comment is also extended to the rest of you lazy authors.)

  22. on 03 Nov 2008 at 8:13 pmClephas

I’m glad the idiot patrol finally got shot down. All those morons trying to ruin the perfect ending by saying he was still alive…

  23. on 06 Nov 2008 at 5:06 pmVadigor

Top10 posts? I may just get around to that…

    someday.

  24. on 06 Nov 2008 at 5:33 pmMatta

BIG E-PEEN YOU GOT THERE, Clephas. /praise

  25. on 10 Nov 2008 at 7:25 pmAvisch

    “Thoughts anyone?”

    Surprised this didn’t get shown.

    http://pics.livejournal.com/torahellion/pic/0000q690

Sunrise animates this = Alot more money (atleast netted from the people who want Lelouch alive)

Otherwise we just get some nice audio dramas explaining how Kallen, Nunally, and Suzaku are doing (I wonder if they will have Jeremiah un-geass him, so that he will not be forced to prolong his life after he reaches old age)

  26. on 29 Nov 2008 at 1:55 pmjenn

Thanks for that link, Avisch (not that you’ll see this, but meh…), I haven’t seen it yet. :) Then again there was so much speculation on this topic I kinda got bored of it after a while. -wry-

I suppose it boils down to whether they want more money/how insistent the maker/scriptwriter is. XD And I just realised what the Japanese text says…-cheats and manages to grab the important part- ^^

I am here at a forum newcomer. Until I read and deal with the forum.
    Let’s learn!

  28. on 28 Dec 2008 at 8:16 pmRatte

In my opinion, this is just the author’s view of the story. In the anime we never get to know if he’s really dead or not, so everbody can have his own opinion about what happens to Lelouch. By the way: imho it doesn’t matter if he’s dead or not (though I must admit I hope he isn’t)

  29. on 21 Jan 2009 at 8:12 pmtraiciate

Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
    God will appreciate it.
