This episode was GAR, and I mean that in a good way. I usually hate seeing anime guys stereotypically solve problems with mindless violence, but I have to admit, Clannad somehow found a way to make it cool. Also, I know the story did have a few holes here and there, but personally, I enjoyed the arc either way; I guess it’s one of those things I just choose not to think too hard about, lest I uncover an unsettling plot hole that would ruin my enjoyment of the show.

@ItAintEazy: But see, I’d expect that more from an action or sci-fi series and not so much from a series like Clannad. It feels like to me that this was the first one to surface, or rather that I’ve never seen one happen in this or Kanon until now. If there was one, then I must not have noticed.

@Roy Mustang: Sorry, I don’t usually make it a point to notice scenes Ryou is in when she doesn’t cry, because I usually get aroused when when she does. Also, I’ve directed a bit of anger towards her since a lot of her dialogue in the VN has so much stuttering (i.e. “I…eh…ehhhhhh!? Wa…wawawwawawawa~…) I feel like I’m talking to a special-ed student in a Lamaze class. Like my index finger and thumb aren’t getting arthritis fast enough!

What holes? The only hole I see is the one that Jay made when he completely failed to address the main point of Episode 4: Ryou random eye scratching 9:35. Behold its gloriousness! Cutest thing since…well, Mei in Episode 3.

At this point, there’s no use in complaining about the nonsensical plots and holes in this series and just go along for the ride. The fight alone pretty much made up for the disappointment that we have to go through more side plots before getting to the actual After Story.
