DARLIN DARLIN FREEEEEEEEEEEZE!!

Huh…well, that certainly threw all my predictions regarding this episode out the window.  I expected this whole affair to be wrapped up during this episode, and although I think it’s good they didn’t go the predictable route as I thought they would have, I didn’t expect them to spend more time on Sunohara;  let’s keep in mind that the whole reason for this season is to spend time on the After Story arc, and I’m getting a bit antsy that they don’t seem to even hint towards going that direction.  Still, unpredictability is a good thing, so the episode itself was excellent, we’ve been lacking in some drama during the first two episodes and I fully welcome it’s comeback.

Comic-relief characters are usually there for that, comic-relief, so I can’t really compare how much contempt I now have now for Sunohara to other comic-relief characters (except Taisuke from School Days but…let’s not get into that shit again -_-).  I never really expected him to all of a sudden be this much of a jerk, just a less cool version of Okazaki with all those same morals and the butt of all jokes;  having actually snagged a “girlfriend,” we see he is just as corruptible to women as many men are (none of it is Sanae’s fault, but this further proves my point that ALL WOMEN ARE EVIL! o.o), but being so wrapped up so as to not prevent a dispute with kids, which took only a few seconds when a kid slightly older than the bullies, is very low.  The only redemption I’ve seen with him was the hint of lust in his eyes when he spotted Mei with Tomoya and his reactions to it, fueling by hopes for an incest END.  Still, even then he doesn’t really act, and doesn’t realize that his behavior is the root of all this.

 GARest Pimp on the planet.

Tomoya might not be totally innocent of all this since it really is his fault for lying about Sanae’s actual relation to Nagisa, and probably could’ve prevented Sunohara’s wild imaginations about going out with Sanae for real, but at least he did the right thing in trying to convince Sunohara to try and go after Mei after being the disillusional bastard he was PLUS he’s pimping Mei so he’s grown even more GAR by my standards.

This…was just pure fanservice.  And I loved every single moment of it.

Showcasing more of this episode’s unpredicatability was Mei’s anger not so much as jealousy that her brother apparently has a girlfriend (which she finds out is a fake in the same episode anyway), but that Sunohara isn’t acting any better than he usually does around a woman and even acts worse so, not sticking up to defend the weak the same way he did when they were both little.  I don’t exactly get the whole logic that “Soccer = he’ll care about me again” since Sunohara will most likely still prioritize Sanae…but hey, everything else was unpredictable right?

PREVIEW

DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA o.O

There’re no scenes of soccer being an in the next episode, so I’m wondering if that’ll actually take effect episode; I’ll feel kind of cheated if they stretch this plot out to Episode 5.  I’m hoping Sanae eventually does reveal herself as Nagisa’s mother, if only to emotionally cripple Sunohara.  Sunohara’s challenge to fight Tomoya at the end of the preview is something also very interesting to look out for:  I don’t doubt that Sunohara will probably get his ass kicked (Tomoyo hit counter last time was…?), but I do remember that the first promo for After Story had a tiny bit where it looked like Tomoya was engaging in a fist fight only to be stopped by Nagisa, so this might be it?  We’ll see…

Today’s entry was pretty short…so we’ll do some gag shots for filler!

It’s hard to tell from a picture, but there was some QUALITY work in this scene.

…I love you Inoue Kikuko. o.o

If there’s an emote for “Dat ass” please let me know.

Ryou’s tears, must taste.  o.o

Come to think of it, she cried last episode too…savor these moments, we know not how long they will last!

I had to pause and laugh for 5 freaking minutes at the lolicon scene. Ryou dropping her ice cream was a nice touch.

Clannad has officially surpassed Kanon in my estimation.

Okazaki: Onii-chan is completely out of the question!

    Mei: Eh?!

    Okazaki: Okay, maybe it’s not.

    Pure win.

The facial style of Okazaki seems different when he’s about to punch someone in the face.

    >>>>>Tomoya might not be totally innocent of all……PLUS he’s pimping Mei so he’s grown even more GAR by my standards.

I’m afraid you’re completely wrong. Did we even watch the same scene?

    >>>GARest Pimp on the planet.

At least you got the caption right. Looking at that picture, who do you think was actually pimping who?

i hope they finished his storyline in the next episode to move things along.

i thought tomoya acting like a fool on the streets was funniest part of the whole show.

lolicon LOL :D……..greatest scene in KyoAni history………

As for focusing in on the after-story, they still have TONS of time for that….

Considering that this is a sequel series….. we don’t have to go through the whole cycle of “Who is Tomoya gonna choose?” and I think the Sunohara arc is a nice way to ease us back into the rythym of the show, and prepares the way for the epic drama that will follow :)

This episode was made of win. Nothing beats seeing Tomoya’s siscon side XD

@Roy Mustang: Tomoya clearly showed dominance when he put pimped Mei with his arm. So yes, Tomoya is the GAR Pimp.

@Pyrrhus Online: I think his face practically screams out…

“NOW I’VE LOST IT. I KNOW I CAN KILL.”

    or something…

@Christina: From what I hear, this actually does happen in Sunohara’s path in the VN (who’d have guessed amirite?), with the exception that you’re not dating Nagisa. I’m not sure how his path would end, but playing through some of the paths, the minor character paths tend to either be surprisingly long (Yukine’s) to horribly short (Ryou’s). I would guess the latter for him.

@Kanon_fan82: To be honest, we didn’t really go through that in the first series either.. .^^; I’m really just anxious to see exactly how many episodes are going to be needed to complete the entire After Story arc, since I’ve had my wild guesses about it, and want my theories put to bed.

@ETERNAL: Protip: You can kiss Mei in the VN. o.o
