As for Shinigami-sama, he seems to be far more knowledgable and more passive than other “major power” characters, as I call them. He also seems to have some knowledge of just what’s going on. As hinted (if you squint you can see it) in episode 1, 4 and 8.

Black Star is not as annoying in the manga because he doesn’t have that lisping voice thing. Other than that, though, anime and manga B*S are pretty similar. However, he has proven himself to be an outstanding distraction device. When he isn’t talking about himself in third person (rare), B*S is pretty dependable and useful, too.

However, this Black Star hatred I’m observing leaves an interesting question: if he were somehow eliminated or removed, whom do you think would make a good second partner for Tsubaki? (And no, “ME!” is not an acceptable answer. ¬_¬)

Anyway, several scenes in this episode cracked me up. The humour is on par with what I’ve come to expect from Soul Eater and I enjoy it for what it’s worth. And come on, you gotta love the “those who can’t see sould” tag… =p

So the main arc will be kicking off next episode then? Should be interesting.
