Well. I must say this episode was great indeed. Singing has never made me laugh so hard.

Animation was indeed jerky at times. But I didn’t mind too much.

I love that for all those little Yayoi moments. Though she and Yamie have a funny connection.

Yuuno was fawning over Shinkurou more than usual.

And I have to say the sparring in episode 5 was REALLY COOL.

The hair was a little weird, too stringy to mimic real hair properly, as well as the mentioned jerky animation. The music more than made up for it though.
lol yeah, THAT’s why I love it XD The suddenly extreme hair animation really helped raise the dramatic situation in the musical scene, lol. It somehow happens some other times too, but it’s still okay, for me at least..

@ Deranged: I had a pretty clear idea of this show’s awesomeness after episode two Murasaki.

@ kaz3phyrous: Haha, thanks for noticing. Yuuno’s seiyuu is actually a singer I believe, which makes Shinkurou teaching her to sing all the more hilarious.

@ ItAintEazy: Meh. it wasn’t something to have been taken seriously. The whole thing was ad libbed and their parts fit their characters quite well.

Murasaki’s naivety and willingness to say the first thing that jumps to mind is quite awesome though, agreed.

@ Randor: After Shinkurou and the gang finished the scripted musical, all their horsing around beforehand produced an entirely new and extended script, that’s what they were acting out and that’s what the committee was confused at.

You know you can sing like a superstar when you score 95 at karaoke ;).

I also love how no-one wanted to hear Yamie’s story, pretty much saying “We can’t really deal with your emoness right now -_-”.

One thing I don’t understand is that even though the committee members wer hired, they were wondering why the musical was still going. Presumably they would’ve given a copy to Shinkurou before hand, so whay did it keep going after the end?

I’d like to assume that it was all randomly made up on the spot in true musical style ;). (Kinda reminds me of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical. I loved that episode).

I, well… loled and facepalmed myself when the impromptu opera started, and the episode has proven effective to make me like Kurenai even more. I wonder though, have the apartment residents there know Benika and friends?

Also, I really LOVE how the hair is animated in this series!

Sorry, I couldn’t get into this episode since operas, and its bastard child, musicals, are among the lowest forms of entertainment born out of a mistake of history. I did, however, get a belly laugh out of Murasaki cutting through the bullshit several times offering her succinct criticisms (”heta!”)
