As a reader who uses blogs sometimes to decide what to watch, finding a blogger who is “unbiased” tends to yield less information than finding a blogger who is “biased” in the same tendencies as me. If a blogger who likes the same kinds of shows I do says he liked X show, I can be fairly certain I will like it too. On the other hand, an unbiased blogger saying he likes a show means little to me as a reader, as there is no connective context with which to examine that like.

(Of course, this is slightly different than what you guys are discussing, but this is the train of thought that occurred on my end eventually.)

In any case, this is addressed to everyone: Generally, I don’t take offense to anything, so never fear to voice your opinions, however, remember that I can (and will :3) return in kind.

This particular entry made me realize that I have strayed far from my usual ideal of being impartial. It’s not like I haven’t done so before though, I always have a favourite and bias my entries towards them (Ayu in Kanon, Akari in ARIA, Shana in SnS, etc) but I guess I went a little far this time, haha.

A lot of the discussion is summed up in Kaelyn’s last comment, so I’ll compile things in response to that. (I’m a little too busy to reply comment by comment, sorry guys ;_;)

Agreed, I’m not trying to get personal or anything, I’m just throwing my opinions out there for all to digest and respond to.

I’d hope not, ever since School Days I’ve known you often like to look at things from all perspectives, I never took your comments as direct jabs at me or anyone else.

While I don’t want to give the impression that I stand above the rest of you, I can see where you’re coming from. Just like admins are more respected on forums, the heirarchy is just…there.

But I’d never want my word taken as law or for people to side with me just because I’m the author here. I like to get involved with the discussions I start, not just post the source material and watch from afar as people go at it in the comments section.

Ahh, I understand what you mean.
My intentions were not to “attack Noe’s fans”, but to offer another point to their perspective. That’s what I love doing, effectively or not, debating with other people using the opposite side of their opinions. About the actual “attacking”, don’t you think that is too much of a strong word?

Also, for the people whom these attacks are addressed to, isn’t the only person you? I think you’re referring to the

I can understand how you might have misinterpreted it. But what I wrote afterwards had no trace of disrespect of Noe’s fans. (and if it matters anyways, I was joking/teasing you) Otherwise, no, I never really wrote anything disrespect to Noe’s fans. I never asked or implied for you and others to stop liking her. My motto for shipping; whatever floats your boat.
Maybe it is due to your interpretation of my comments?

I’m just trying to balance out your negative comments of Hiromi. But the large difference, is that you are the writer of this blog. You have control over what your readers read, while I am just a commenter. Your comments have much more impact than mine. It is my opinion, that people in your position should try to be as unbiased as possible. Yes I love your quirky opinions, but not if they are distasteful or are scattered and inserted in multiple unnecessary places.

If you could show me how I imply that every mistake is Noe’s causing, then please do so. Otherwise, once again, I think this is another of your misconception of my intentions and your interpretation.
