Finally made it till episode 11. That’s late comparing to you guys, but I guess it’s better than nothing…;)

Sky Girls managed to catch my interest, even though I prefer Animes with more action. Maybe it’s the great character development, or these little plot pieces. Whatever it is, I’m looking forward to the next episodes!

For the Ayako subs, they are my preferred SG-subs. There aren’t any Youtube Ayako subs past episode 11, but that’s just a small problem.

And Elise (which is definitively written with a “s”, since German names with “z” are rather uncommon. I would also bet that her real name is “Elisabeth”, which would fit her aristocratic heritage) sure is an interesting new pilot. Guess it’s not good for your sanity to be the only survivor of a WORM attack…;)

(Yeah, and I wonder if we’ll actually hear her speaking 6 different languages…)

And for the mass-produced Sonic Diver, it’s just logically to develop them. It’s a bit hard for 3 girls to save the world alone (at least that’s what the military thinks). The Bachstelze model – at least the one Elise’s piloting – seems to be made for the German military (note the Luftwaffe insignia and the German-”speaking” HUD). I wonder if this model is able to perform the Delta Lock…

@ Siva: Aren’t the main antagonists the WORMs? I mean…if not that, maybe I can see a military conspiracy, but Sky Girls’ plot is pretty basic, I’m sure we’re just up against the WORMs.

Sky Girls has ripped a lot of concepts from NGE though, no doubt about that. but they’re elements that are present in many other mecha anime as well.

@ AS: Otoha, Ichijo and Karen are all 17 yet look like 13 year olds, Elize is 15 yet looks like a 10 year old, if nothing else, at least they’re skewing of their appearances are relatively linear.

@ ItAintEazy: Wow, those seem like fail subs. I just wait for Ayako.

@ TheChichiSlaughterHouse: Yea, AT-X finally decided to air it, thank god. I can’t wait.

God, I had the misfortune of watching the SSS (appropriately named Suck Suck Subs) version of the episode. It was just a painful experience. So many screen-filling notes over some lines the subber didn’t understand, and he put Elize’s age at 16. What part of ju go sai does he not understand? Also in that same scene, the subber made a note of how he doesn’t understand that Elize speaks six languages.

That aside, it’s pretty cool how I can watch only two episodes completely out of order and not seem to miss anything :^p

The funny thing about anime is how its sometimes hard to tell the real age of the characters. Elize is 15, c’mon lol, she looks like a elementary student. So does that mean the original Sky Girls are like past their teens already? I thought they were most likely high school age. I like how Elize was so mad at Eika for beating her, priceless ^^

I was impressed that Ichijo actually used that technique that similar to the one that used by the mystery sonic diver pilot. After this scene it makes me really want to know who is that mystery sonic diver pilot, and r we going to get to know about that person soon? it is really make me want to know it even more after i saw Hizuki told Ichijo that mystery pilot is just a temporary collaborator with his suspicious face.
And when r we getting to know who is the main antagonist?

@BrikHaus: what i would guess about mass-production mean is that it is the final version of Sonic Divers, and Raijin, Reijin and Fuujin r the just beta version. I would say that Elize’s Sonic Diver will only synch with her only. And i dont really see how the Sonic Divers being rip off from “Evangelion”.

The three original Sonic Divers will only synch with specific people, and now there is a new mass-production type of Sonic Diver? Jeez, could they try to rip off “Evangelion” a little more?
