School Days 12 [EN…Wait. What?!

So I herd u liek boats.

So, here I was, innocently refreshing Tokyo Tosho and repeatedly spazzing out on the search query button in Share and Winny in an attempt to find a School Days 12 raw, when ItAintEazy commented that something is up with the episode. After a quick visit to Random Curiosity, it would appear that the final episode was postponed in light of a violent crime in Kyoto where a girl killed her father with an axe.

Her reasoning? “”I didn’t like my father so I killed him.” Well, I’m not particularly fond of this girl for delaying our much anticipated finale of School Days, but I’m not about to brandish a cleaver against her. Ugh. My faith in humanity falls ever lower.

I’m guessing that the finale of School Days was gory in nature so the broadcasters thought it would be inappropriate to air it so soon after a tragic crime and possibly cause a link to be formed between them. So instead they aired a 28 minute long segment with a bunch of scenic shots.

Well, at the very least this should be the final indication that School Days does indeed have a BAD END. I can’t wait until tomorrow. Be thankful that you lived a day longer than planned Makoto!

But on that note, tomorrow is my busiest day at uni, with classes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. I’ll do my best to blog School Days by the end of the day tomorrow, but expect my Claymore entry to be pushed back to Thursday.

For the record, it is a pretty nice boat.

    I was waiting for you to comment on this.

    Though I haven’t been watching school days (I only really watched 2 episodes). I had read up on the bad ends before it aired and I actually have been interested in what ending they would use (I wanted Kotonoha going yandere….but it looks to be Sekai).

    So when I got home today and checked for a summary on random curiosity I see school days is not there and I’m like: “whaaa?” and then this.

    Two thoughts:

    1) Is anyone else reminded of Relax-O-Vision from “Freakazoid?”

    2) Wouldn’t it be terrible if, tomorrow, we tune in to/download “School Days” and it turns out to be a narrator saying, “Oh… remember the boat from yesterday’s broadcast? Well, we enacted the final scenes on the boat. What… weren’t you paying attention?”

    Though this did let me get caught up (I’m so had I had 11 when it came out) this was not cool. It is all a ploy to build up to something that will fail or be the opposite. I still have money on Makoto not dieing though. Though as long as we get the episode soon…

    @ W4: If they want to keep their credibility as an animation production company, and their lives, they won’t. Seriously, I’ll send the girl after them.

    @ Shadro: Makoto has to die! Why else would they stall the episode if it weren’t gory, and who else but Makoto would get killed. Unless Sekai takes it out on Katsura.

    @ lolikit: That’s the boat episode, guaranteed roll.

    @ Servbot: I’m going to hurt someone if I have to wait for the DVDs to see the real ending.

    No, no Katsura is so gonna take out Sekai after things some how get batched up. The only thing we have to think about is if it counts as double murder. (Though I have been hoping for that Bad End to be played out since the beginning).

    All right Shirukii. I was just about ready to “walk the bridge” after seeing that image.

    And as a pre-emptive comment to any moral scolds who happen to post their “shame on you” maunderings, I’ll just come out and say it: No, I don’t give two drops of piss that some girl decapitated her father with an axe or that it’s a tragedy or that people are sad and junk like that. All I want is my friggin anime, people die every goddamn day, why should one death be important enough to pull an episode of a series I’m trying to watch? What should have been a very local story has denied me the satisfaction of witnessing Makoto’s demise (I hope).

    Yes, yess, before you call me a hypocrite, I hope when I die a horrible death, the coverage or the tragedy of it all won’t pre-empt an entertainment program people have been waiting all week - hell, all summer for.

    Hmmmm its the 21st now and i still cant find it, what in the world are they trying to do to me!? I find myself checking my downloading site every hour to see if it has been released yet, but to no avail. But this whole delay is making me day dream of all the ways makoto is going to die. I hope sekai doesnt get killed though with her unborn child. That is kinda harsh, even if she is a skank. (bites nails) Arrrgggg why must you torture me so!!!!! Ugh im going to work!

    In some regards, I don’t really need to see the ending anymore. I can kinda see where it’s leading:

    By the end of episode 11, Sekai seems almost content with the idea that the child she’s carrying is Makotos’. But in episode 12 - upset with the way he’s been treating Sekai, Otome tells her about all the other girls he’s been sleeping with. Full of rage and disbelief, she heads over to his apartment to confront him about his actions. When she gets there, she listens at his bedroom door only to hear him in bed with Kotonoha. She’s understandably not happy, realising that everything Otome has told her is true, and she finally snaps. Cue murderous rampage with a kitchen knife. Almost everyone connected with Makoto dies - including Makoto himself, who is disemboweled and left to die alone.

    Then we cut to Setsuna, who we see reading an article about a japanese school girl going on a killing spree, and feeling very glad that she decided to move to France without telling her friend where she was going. The camera pans down, and in the final shot, we see her holding her stomach - indicating that she too is pregnant. Roll credits.

    Or something like that.

    But one thing is for sure…

    ….that’s a DAMN nice boat! :)

    And now it looks like it’s not going to be aired…the production company is holding an event to coincide with the first DVD release somewhere in Tokyo, and to get in to see it you have to bring an unopened copy of the School Days or Summer Days PC game. Saw this on Anime News Network.

    God dammit. =P This Boat ain’t so Nice anymore.

    He ditches Sekai cause he don’t want no baby mama drama.

    The last thing he said to Kotonoha was something about how he will never cheat on him again. Usually, coming from him, that would jsut be bullshit. But, it turns out that he’s too dead to cheta on her. When Kotonoha discoveres his corpse, she’s not mad, she’s relieved that he’ll never cheat on her again. And, best of all, he can cut off his head and make him easier to transport!

    He’s know a superior boyfriend. He’s easy to carry around, and he’ll never cheat on her again.

    I think they wrapped the whole story up pretty well:

    Makoto got what he deserved (even though I have to admit to feeling the tiniest bit of sympathy for him after what he said to Kotonoha).

    Sekai definitely got what she deserved. She knew that Setsuna and Kotonoha liked Makoto, but she still seduced him anyway.

    And Kotonoha got what she always wanted - some time alone with Makoto on a nice boat :)
