Having found Sky Girls just recently, I made it till episode 6. I'll post my 2 cents about this episode here, since it has some nice informations about Togo and Hizuki.

Poor old Togo. Guess it's not hard to find out which former pilot he meant...

Hizuki's getting more and more interesting as the show goes on. Maybe he's not the [cencored] he seems to be, maybe he has personal reasons (his family was killed by WORMs, turning him into some kind of Captain Ahab - that's what comes across my mind, especially after the simulation battle with this white sea WORM...), or maybe his plans are a bit sinister. Who knows...

@Vadigor:
I couldn't find that much similarities with the Bleach Openings, but maybe it's because the majority of the Bleach OPs are sung by males...

"Otoha has higher latent potential than Karen in piloting." i can tell that u r right if u r talking about the fighting skill. I guess u know that Karen has a skill that those 2 don't have it and that skill is the reason y i root for Karen.

Off topic: do u know the reason y i like Galatea more than Clare and Miria? It is not because of her skill or appearance. Normally for an Offensive type to use brain/tactic/strategy to fight in battle for their own chance to survive in the battlefield is nothing strange just like Miria and Clare did. As for an Defensive type to go up straight and tank with everything they got is nothing strange just like Cynthia and Veronica did(i dont mean that they have no strategy at all, it just that they use less strategy and depend more on their own defend). And what do u think about Galatea as she is a Defensive type? Galatea is actually a Defensive type but she seem to use more strategy instead of being a tank. No wonder y she is a Defensive type but she can have a rank #3.

@Vadigor: sry i am not a fan of bleach so i dont know about that.

Honestly, I usually don't watch them because I don't like to sit through the ending credits, I prefer skipping straight to the next episode, unless I've caught up with the series and there's actually a bit of storyline continuity going on (e.g. Death Note)

By the way, anyone else noticed Sky Girls Opening Music's resemblance to some of Bleach's? Could be I'm imagening things, but the rythm sure feels familiar.

@ Siva: Perhaps...but so far he's quite an ass =(

I just hope we get SOME sort of action soon, it's been long enough for build up, I need to see stuff start blowing up!

As for the breast scene, I doubt real girls size each other up in that particular way haha. And from the looks of things, Otoha has higher latent potential than Karen in piloting.

@ Vadigor: I used to completely ignore previews as well, but hey, it gives me another paragraph worth of blogging material, so I usually do it for the series I'm covering.

I agree, all the mindless fanservice was pushed too far, spending half an episode talking about bust size might be a bit long.

As an avid preview-ignoring watcher, I still hope we see at least -some- action, seeing as we're nearing the first quarter of the series without seeing an actual fight >

So i was right in the last post about this episode.

"I’m beginning to hate Lieutenant Hizuki. He’s one of those characters who has little respect for the lives of his comrades and hides behind the guise of doing what he’s doing for the common good." You might got him wrong somehow, just like Undine from Claymore, but i didnt mean u r wrong here it just that i feel that he got his reason of doing so.

The next ep doesnt look like we’ll be seeing any fighting but without seeing the ending of the next ep u cant say that yet. I guess in the next ep we will be able to get to know more about the new Loli. I think sky girls is still need a few more episodes before its action starts because it seem like they r preparing everything to get ready for action.

"But I have to admit, Karen using her anatomy and planar geometry skills to pinpoint Nanae’s bust size made me lol. See kids, math -IS- useful in real world situations." This scene makes me feel like "Oh this is how the girls judge their thing" i cant stop laughing after i saw Karen doing that.
I am rooting for Karen from the first episode. I cant wait to see her true potential in the real battle.
