1 Year Anniversary + New Layout

Wow time flies. It was one year ago this day that Anime Blog ga Arimasu started up, mostly unknown to the rest of the anime blogging community.
We started off on Wordpress but soon after, thanks to the infinitely generous Maestro, we switched to animeblogger.net for hosting.
It’s now a year later and what started off as a boredom driven impulse one summer day has grown into a part of my daily routine. Posting on here and watching the discussion fly back and forth between commenters is loads of fun and appeases my e-penis…uh…appeases my e-penis. orz
To celebrate this joyous occasion, we’ve thrown together a new theme and banner for the site. A lot of people thought the previous theme was a too bright and painful on the eyes, so we tried our best to keep the contrast of the theme a little darker this time.
Keeping with the one character per author theme, this banner features Sawachika Eri and Tsukamoto Yakumo from School Rumble. The choice was based off of Soda being a huge Noto (and thus Yakumo) fan and me being a huge Eri fan (as well as a minor Hocchan fanboy). I’m sure Soda will go into a violent Noto fanboy rant when he writes his part of the post.
I’ll spare you from an onslaught of statistics and just say thanks to all the readers out there who have stuck with us over this year, bonus points if you commented as discussion is the lifeblood of any blog. It’s been a great year and I hope you guys continue to visit! And for the lurkers out there, comment moar!
Actually, there is one statistic that we are particularly proud of. On google’s image search we are the first result for “yuri”. FUCK YEAH! LESBIANS! :3
EDIT* I was going to avoid singling out people, but since lolikit seems starved for love, I’ll make an exception. Initially I thought lolikit was nothing but an angry troll, but…oshi-, he is just an angry troll.
But the point is, he inspired two entire seasons of blog posts here and has my eternal loev (in the most heterosexual way). GET BACK TO BLOGGING YOU FOOL!

Soda’s edit: Phew, it’s been a long road, but we finally got here! I know I haven’t been posting much, but I did my job here today as coder for AniAri. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. Having just come back from my two month vacation in HK just two days ago, I had to quickly shape up our semi-new theme for this anniversary. It certainly didn’t help how my internet was constantly down, and it’s only now that I’m getting stable speeds.
As for the theme itself, it’s still running off our modified Mistylook theme, quite similar to our previous theme. It features a darker colour, however, due to popular demand numerous death threats. The banner, as usual, features two characters for the two authors, and, as usual, was created by Shirukii’s mad PS skillz. Hopefully it won’t cause full out wars between the Yakumo and Eri factions. Because, you know, Eri would be decimated. And let it be said that I am intensely jealous of those who got to see Noto at Otakon. I’d kill for that opportunity ;_;
So here’s to another year, and with many hopes to see you all again =3

@ Totali: Our original layout was blue as well, so it feels like we kinda went backwards from my perspective. But my banner making skills have improved quite a bit since then, anyone who’s been around since the first banner can attest to that.
@ xXMikotoNakadaiXx: I’m going to try and solve the equations in the background some day. But from a quick glance I see some infinite series questions, which are quite difficult imo.

lol? People need to turn their brightness level on their monitors down a little bit, because I never saw any problem. Loving the new layout in any case. Congratulations. It’s been a real pleasure reading your blog ever since lolikit linked to it (so he’s not entirely useless).

what the fuck, shirukii (and my love for him) have been around longer than you, Owen.
It should also be noted that without me, you would have been a sniveling heap of lack of self-esteem in the blogosphere dumpster. SO THERE. Shirukii has been win since the beginning, without needing me to tell him so (though I admit his taste in anime is only slightly perfect.)
Congratulations on your first year, i hope you still keep going on for another year.
