Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora – Kaon and Himiko DVD Special

Five minutes. That’s all it took. Five minutes dedicated completely to Kaon and Himiko (a.k.a. Chikane and Himeko) is all it took to remind me why I had such high hopes for Kyousora. Now whenever someone mentions it, I no longer have to think about the main series, which was made of fail, but rather I can recall this blissful 5 minute dvd special instead.

Episode Rating: lim(1/x) as x->0+

The brief scene between the two explains the origins of the nude painting of Kaon that Himiko painted. Apparently it wasn’t just a product of Himiko’s rabid imagination, she actually had Kaon model for her. Timeline wise, it looks like it takes place just after Himiko loses Kaon to Mika, but before Kaon becomes more or less a soulless weapon.

After the painting session is over, Kaon tells Himiko that she’s getting work done on her again to become a stronger weapon for Mika. Himiko knows that the result will be a Kaon different from who she is now, and can’t hide the sorrow in her voice. Kaon cheers her up by reminding her that no matter what she’s forced to do and no matter how far away she is, the true her will always be with Himiko, the true her will always belong to Himiko.

Himiko leans in for a kiss, but Kaon tells her to save it for when she comes back, so that she has something to look forward to. But Himiko can’t contain her lust and ends up doing it anyways.

I honestly never thought I’d do another Kyousora post again, but this special was made of concentrated win and definitely warranted the coverage. Hopefully another one comes out featuring Setsuna and Kuu, I don’t even care if it’s another one of their bath scenes, those two need more joint screentime.

    This is the second DVD special. The first one was about Setsuna (and her awesome hair) and Kyoshiro.
    Kaon and Himiko are very sweet together, but I liked the first one better.
    According to the anime website, the special on the third DVD is Kuu’s observation log of Setsuna. It’s been released, but I haven’t seen it yet. I’m especially looking forward the the fifth special. :D

    Is that their excuse to bring out the memories of that…other lesbian show made by the same animation team?

    @ Aurelia: Wha!? But only the first DVD has come out in Japan, if you have a link to the first special, I’d appreciate if you could email it to me.

    @ Hinano: Kannaduki no Miko, and yes, the whole point of the two series was to throw unsuspecting victims onto the yuri bandwagon. In fact, the reason I picked Kyoshiro up in the first place was to see these two back together.

    Back from Mexico…..lot more posts to look over than I thought there would be.

    This special must have been adapted from a scene in the manga.

    I think it was the only scanlated chapter.

    Welcome back, hope you enjoyed your vacation (assuming leisure was the reason for travel). Thanks to Kyousora DVD specials and the new summer season, I’ve been swamped with post backlog this past week ;_; And on the same week I started work too, it’s been tough to keep up.

    But uh…Kyousora has a manga o.o? Is it any less fail than the anime?

    T_T There so sweet…. But why did they always hurt Kaon? (a.k.a Chikane) Why cant Himiko stop them? Why cant they just leave Kaon alone with Himiko? T_T Why, Why, Why?
    Kaon deserves better than that Mika and because of that Mika, Himiko and Kaon are separated…. >_>

    Holy crap it’s exactly what I watched 12 episodes for and was denied! I spiral down a pit of depression knowing that no one has subbed these. Unless… is there a download somewhere? Or sheesh, any of them with enough yuri in it. Which can be just about anything because my yuri-goggles are teh strong.
