when i was young i have never had any friends or best friends at all until i am grade 8. So the feeling of being alone is something that i understand it the most or u can say what kind of pain it is. When ur first time u has a best friends , i think u know what kind of feeling u had back there and how much u enjoyed those feelings with them. There r a lot of things happened but i think i should stop here.

IMHO, the canon aspect of their relationship is by far the better. Yeah, yeah, rampant fantasies are fantastic and all. Call me a sucker. I like strong friendship.

I never claimed to know what Nanoha thinks; however, by all means, if you want me to I shall. I think that she cares a lot about Fate and doesn’t want to fight. I think that she’s happier when they’re not fighting. I think that when they’re done fighting, and taking their first steps as ‘real’ friends finally, they’re both happier for it. And I like that happiness. Did Aria make me a wimp? I don’t mind if it did. The beamspamming is funny, as Shirukii mentioned (or maybe he has serious penis envy), but it’s nowhere near as satisfying to me as two people being people and more than that, being friends. Maybe you don’t understand—the final episode of Nanoha season 1 touched me. For anime, that’s impressive. Again, Shirukii can vouch for me here :)

No, I don’t think I will. But that’s mainly because “redoing” things is, as exposed in Shirukii’s reviews of Sola, an emo plot device meant for base pathetic appeals in fiction. Real life, while it can support trolls, unfortunately does not house magic, grails, maid armies, or men as sexy as Archer.

I’ve had the good fortune of never attending lesbian school. I call it good fortune because I’m not female. But on the metalevel you’re taking SP at, sure, I’ve thought of situations like that. I write well when I think about things like that. Prose just flows from my keyboard and it’s all very good. But in terms of interacting with others or being intelligent, considering situations such as those that pop up in SP is terrible.

Yeah? Heh… frankly, at that point, I didn’t care anymore. Supposing that scene had ‘power,’ then what were the first 25 episodes? They would be the ‘game club’ of Higurashi to SP. As explained elsewhere, that’s just bad.

Actually, allow me to do something halfway between condescending and elevating. We’re equals. I watched SP, and was touched by moments of it when there was a connection to emotions I’ve felt in my life, in relation to other people.

Now allow me to tell you what those emotions were.

When I fell in love with my best friend. This was gold, I assure you. Things were real awkward for a long time. They still are. Tamao is a better person than me for being able to let go, and I still look up to her for it. Oh, and true story.

When I fell in love with a younger girl’s cuteness. She wasn’t wearing a maid uniform, though.

When I refused to talk to anyone I knew because I was being emo. Again, true story. It’s why I quit anime blogging the second time. (This is my third time).

Well, those are all true stories (and all related) and show how SP’s feelings are reflected in my heart. But what you find, when you examine these stories of mine, is that my emotions are completely screwball and lame. Any connection to a show like SP is just a disgrace to the show. So yeah… even when I try to find something meaningful, it just isn’t there. Ever heard this line from a song: “is there anything redeeming, any worthwhile feeling, is my life like a tight rope, hanging from my ceiling?” Well, no, there’s nothing redeeming. No worthwhile feeling. Etc.

I’m being pestered by my brother’s chess students so I can’t really focus on this argument right now, unfortunately.

If I left anything unraveled please let me know so I can get back to this discussion.

2. In the last episode, where Tamao let Nagisa go to reunite with Shizuma instead of forcing Nagisa to stay with her. At that time I was like OMG! they are doing something that i had been waiting to see it for a long time. At that time even if I were Tamao i will just do the same thing as her if i loved Nagisa than everything i ever had. Do you think i am crazy?

In F/SN the thing that impressed me the most is where Kirei ask about Shiro desire the Holy Grail or not. “If you could make it as if it never happened.. if you could restart everything.. wouldn’t you desire the Holy Grail?” and Shiro answered NO. “I believe this path is not wrong.” and if u want to completely understand it then u need to re-watch ep22 again where the event take place. The thing that impressed me the most is where Shiro says “I believe this path is not wrong.” Will u ever to say those words when u have a chance to redo ur sadness past and grant ur wish with a happy-life?

I think the divide here is the difference in tastes, Siva seems to be the more common anime fan, giving anything a fair chance and trying his hardest to find redeeming qualities here and there.

lolikit, on the other hand, is an unforgiving elitist. Incredibly high standards and often the inability to give a second chance.

There are benefits and detriments to both styles. I try to balance somewhere in between, distinguishing the good from the bad, but watching the bad anyways, just for the hell of it.

As for Nanoha, I was totally in it for the beamspam, and the canon/not so canon Fate and Nanoha pairing. The military shit is ruining it though, and StrikerS is definitely the worst of the trilogy thus far.
