Mikuru Beam? In MY Lucky Star!? It’s more likely than you think.

KyoAni…I understand you guys have a nice cash cow on your hands and want to milk it for all it’s worth, and there’s a certain beauty in subtle product placement, but this isn’t it!

Hare Hare Yukai as Konata’s ring tone and in Taiko Drum Master, Konata watching Haruhi instead of doing homework, and even copious amounts of Haruhi posters covering her room can pass as fair game.

This, however, is a little much. I watch Lucky Star because I want to hear four high school girls who look like elementary school kids talk about food.

Okay so I actually don’t know why I watch Lucky Star. But I’m sure being reminded that I’m a horrible person for not buying the Haruhi DVDs isn’t it.

On a less ranty note, Lucky Star has actually been pretty decent lately. It’s not laugh out loud funny, but it’s an amusing way to kill 22 minutes of my life.

And lol @ the ambitious (albeit futile) attempt at getting back to the roots of the word ‘tsundere’ and trying to coin a new term for its now common usage. And thankfully a.f.k. decided to leave the term untranslated this time, I’m more or less indifferent towards the localization, but tsundere != bipolar.

I wonder when the other girls in the OP are going to be introduced if at all.

The series brings me back in that state of mind when I was watching Azumanga Daioh @_@

Just watched this episode. It’s the first I watched since episode 1.

I’ll probably check back to all the other episodes for their good references. And too see if I’ve missed anything good.

I liked the scenes with Konata’s father. They were good. :)

And yes there are alot of Haruhi references.

    I liked the poster reference
(don’t know if this will link)

    - “This, however, is a little much.”

Uh…. that’d be sub’s problem, from what i can hear from the dialogue, that part nvr mentioned anything about Haruhi DVD, what that crazy rocket guy actually said is just something like new DVD instead of you know what >_>

Tho i still think the haruhi merchandizes are already too much….. OTZ

@ Servbot: Azu is a lot better in my opinion, it had a somewhat continuous plot and the humor was more universal, rather than directed at anime fans.

@ Avisch: Awesome-kun is aweeeesome. He found and married a loli MILF, that’s an achievement on its own.

Good luck finding the poster, I’ve seen a wallpaper of that, but not a physical poster.

@ Nightingale: Nice catch. When there are fansubs I make very little attempt to match up the dialogue with the subs and put blind faith in the fansubbers. In either case, it’s still obvious what they were suggesting. OTZ indeed.

Avisch, that poster was in some issue of an anime magazine last year, so it may be quite hard to get the original version. There is a reprint of it, but the only place i have seen it is in some euro store with one of those weird languages.
