This anime is my favourite at the moment. This episode is really good. Clare's desperate fight was particularly captivating. How Galk and his knife boy companion changed their view of Clare and Raki was a nice change. As far as I know nobody really respects Claymores. As for the general fear of Claymores I think it stems from the fact that they are are half youma. The fear of youmas is extended to half youmas. Furthermore, Claymores' cold characters add to mistrust and ultimately more fear. People see the Claymores as more of a necessary evil to fight monsters. My theory about black note system is the organisation may be controlled by corrupt and powerful Claymores (possibly Awakened). These leaders use the black note system to get rid of members they deem unfit to join their ranks.
