You are right, this episode was major fail.

But, I’m probably one of the four people that still believe a Setsuna/Kuu ending can be pulled out of this series’ ass.

Kyoshiro didn’t accept Kuu’s invitation to the dance. (foreshadowing maybe?) All that’s left to happen is for Kyoshiro to get pwned badly by Kazuya; Kuu angsts for an episode, then realizes “0mg I have no one to go to teh dance with”, and ask Setsuna to go.

This is the same production staff that brought us KnM. So I still have hope.
