Haha, it’s not that hard to make one, just use a really repetitive table format like mine XD Sure you have to copy and paste it numerous times, leading to wrist cramps, but it’s easy ^^

As for anime DVDs, compared to what I’ve watched, I own very little, but I do own a few. And I plan to add the Haruhi DVDs to that collection quite soon *eagerly awaits May 29*

I’m more interested in buying manga, seeing as I have this odd hate of reading manga off a screen (ie. scanlations) unless it’s exceptionally good.

@ bakavic: That sounds pretty nice, I wish I had known that during my organization.

However, the problem isn’t how well my anime is tagged and sorted on comp, I’m really meticulous with that. It’s the physical disc library that’s getting out of hand. I’ve got around 200 anime backup DVDs, I needed to keep track of what was burned and what wasn’t.

This list combined with a labeling system I put into effect really helps. This obsessive compulsive organization was bred from a few times where I accidentally deleted anime I hadn’t archived yet (most painfully: PoT, 178 episodes T_T)

There’s always anidb for the lazy. It’s supposed to auto-catalog all your files, so all you need to do is to put the discs into your drive, and it’ll do all the identification.

It has other interesting features like tracking deleted episodes, noting if the episodes are on disc or drive, etc.

However, it has some drawbacks – for some reason, when you first start, it downloads a huge (100mb+) cache of (probably all known) anime, so it takes a while to load. Also, as easy as it is to insert discs for identification, it’s still a chore…

I didn’t know where else to post this comment, so I’m gonna leave it here…….

While the new site design is nice, you seriously need to change the wallpaper/background…..it’s hard on the eyes after a while…a darker colour would probably do the trick….

but hey, it’s your site :)…..Just a suggestion from a fan of your blogs :)

P.S. New Kanon episode less than 48 hrs away…..wooooot! :)

@ lolikit: Haha, thanks for the offer, but I think it’ll be fine as is until the list grows significantly larger.

@ Nic: That would be awesome…but I’m not looking to rival anfo or ann, most of the ratings were rough estimates, as much time has passed since their initial ratings.

Thanks for the compliment on taste, though much of that list is comprised of harem/harem-esque anime XD

@ Whispered Hope: Make your own =D It’s a fun way to waste a couple hours.

And yes these are only the anime I’ve watched via fansub, as much as I wish those were all official DVDs, I can’t imagine the amount of debt I’d be in if that were the case T_T

Pfft… you call that an anime database? It’s not really a database unless you rate each and every single anime on at least two dozen factors in MySQL. ;)

@ Adun: Admittedly, I skewed that statement a bit. When I say from March, what I REALLY mean is all the anime I had on my computer at that time and any CDs I had lying around (which were quite a few). I also grabbed a lot of stuff off of my friends. So all in all I’d say the list goes back another 4-6 months.

On an unrelated note, I tried commenting on your blog and I keep getting a validation error =(

@ lolikit: I knew I got the idea from someone, I just couldn’t pinpoint who it was XD

My format is weaksauce, though using properly spaced columns did help cut down the repetition. I was seriously contemplating the theft of your ‘jump to __ letter’ but decided it would be morally wrong.

…okay I lie, it just looked like too much work to implement T_T
