STICK IT IN!

This show fascinates me, my love for it is completely illogical and inexplicable. It’s not train wreck syndrome, nor is it anything like my love for the randomness of Negima!? or PPD, it’s just this wonderful tingling feeling I get south of the belt deep in my heart, every time I watch it.

More randomness this episode, most notably: vanilla cake bukkake, ZOMG plot twist, an oddly phallic torture device (pictured above) and enough shower/bathing to last you a week. I swear I’m not making this stuff up.

So apparently Kuu has started living with Setsuna and Kyoshiro. Feeling helpless and confused, she offers as much help as she can, but has cooking skills just barely above Carbon Master Natsuki, only managing a charred egg.

At breakfast Kuu face plants into the vanilla cake, which is of course just an excuse to have another yuri “ofuro” scene (like we really need a reason?). Though this time around they show no hesitation to play the yuri card as Setsuna kisses Kuu in an attempt to cheer her up.

The episode then goes on a power trip, sparing no one as they unleash a barrage of terminology and seemingly important plot ramblings that the average viewer has no hope of understanding. It’s also revealed that Kyoshiro is the brother of Kuu’s prince (surprise surprise).

The rest of the time is spent building up some sort of mission which Kuu is apparently vital to. She pairs with Kyoshiro to invade another of the campus’s schools, using Setsuna as a diversion. However the furry nya-nya rapist from the first episode smells the vanilla wafting off Kuu from a good 10 kilometers away and intercepts her and Kyoshiro. How she knew of Kuu’s morning slip? Shhhhh, convenient continuity errors.

Cliffhanger ending as the ground breaks out from under them, and the flying horse is strangely unable to fly. Meaning their only hope is Setsuna, who is racing against time to rush to the scene.

Thoughts

So after 3 episodes I can pass judgment and say that this series is officially worth while watching, this of course means very little coming from me, since I sat through YoakeNa. But seriously! I got it right this time.

It’s pretty clear now that Kuu’s internal monologuing is being over dramatized on purpose, rocketing her narration just below SHnY’s Kyon. Though I would prefer that she dropped the “haiken, watashi no ouji-sama”, her narration really is hilarious. She trivializes the danger that herself and her fellow students are in, yet fantasizes and exaggerates kisses, baths, her new seifuku, etc. to unbelievable importance, comedic genius.

Speaking of fantasy, Setsuna has the best hair I have ever seen on an anime character. It’s freaking awesome, especially when wet. Her character design in general is very well done, but her hair just pushes it over the top. Even Kuu has one of her sparkle fantasies about her:

One thing that kinda bothered me about Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora (do we have an abbreviation yet T_T?) is the amount of kissing going on. Sure the characters have a general naivety about it and it’s used as a means to replenish energy, but it’s still spammed a bit too much for my liking, it trivializes the matter. However, if it means that it forces them to emphasize the climax of any relationships by transcending the kiss and using a full out H-scene, I will retract my complaints. …>_> <_< DON'T JUDGE ME *cries*

I counted 6 kissing scenes throughout the episode. Excluding the OP and ED sequences pins the episode length around 20 minutes meaning that the episode averages a kiss every 3 minutes and 20 seconds. lawl

Another matter of overused scenes in this anime, showers. It seems to be the ideal place to think about heavy, life changing matters, as well as having confusing as hell monologues which leave poor viewers at a loss of comprehension. But if that means I have to stare at the male anatomy in all its glory, I’ll have to pass D=. Double standard? Definitely.

So I think I’ll blog this series fully, episode by episode as there doesn’t seem to be too bad of an overload of Kyoshiro posts in the blogging community. So far I’m liking it better than Kannaduki no Miko because they seem to be concentrating less on mecha and more on…
