Suzumiya Haruhi Live Action!!
November 20th, 2006 by Soda
With Shirukii’s disappearance, it’s going to get a LOT more quiet around here. My own schoolwork is overwhelming me, and with finals fast approaching, it’s only getting worse. On top of that, I too am still trying to find a blogging style that perfectly fits me. Come back soon, Shirukii ;_; [though you can take as long as you need]
However, I suspect that’s not the reason you’re here. Yes, I promised live action Haruhi, and live action Haruhi I shall deliver.
It’s the live action version of the first half of episode 01. Or… episode 00, if you so prefer. Looks like people were bored enough to re-enact all that good stuff again. They use the audio from the show, so you won’t have to worry about horrible voice acting. Unless you count the fact that their mouths don’t really move in time with the voices… but that’s ok. I’m willing to overlook that.
Unfortunately… this live action version features a cast almost entirely consisting of males. So if you were hoping for some live action bishoujo Mikuru action, you’re going to be vastly disappointed. However, that’s not to say the live action was a disappointment. Because of the abundance of “traps”, I found myself laughing at just how ridiculous everything was. I WILL, however, give points for having an actual female play LOLfang-tan, unless I’ve been completely fooled by said trap. In which then I’d be really disturbed. That’s just wrong. Just… no.
In any case, Goto Yuko was QUITE the voice here, VERY fitting. I totally loved it when she did her little fainting sound at the very end, when Mikuru falls into Koizumi’s arms. Also when she uhhh, he dives to save Koizumi, and hits her his head on the post. Meanwhile, I wasn’t that disturbed by Chihara Minori, since… well, it’s not as high and squeeky.
More points won by them for actually going through with the scene when Mikuru falls into the water. I wasn’t really expecting that they’d actually do that, and I didn’t expect that they would find a suitable setting to do it in. Additional points awarded for having costumes that didn’t exactly fit the male actors. Prime examples would be the bunny suit [they weren't designed to reveal THAT much o.o ], and the constant midriff present in guys wearing the school uniform. Finally, massive points awarded for having the guts to do this in public. More than I could ever say. Of course, it was massively disturbing, so massive points taken off for that.
Overall, my final conclusion? It’s not exactly Haruhi season two, but I can’t wait till the next half =D

Does anyone really care ?
If you’re referring to me, then yea, I would assume so o.o I was mentioned in the post, being the other author and creator of this blog, dragging Soda along with me ^^.
If you’re referring to my fanboyism towards LOLfang-tan, then no, probably only me =\
And if by chance you mean LA Haruhi, then yes, I would expect at least SOME people to care. Otherwise you wouldn’t have clicked… no?
