I hope Nayuki stands up to Kyuuichi at some point... my opinion of this show will flip 180 degrees if Kyuuichi gets what's coming to him.

It just seems wrong to have a big grin on my face while Kyuuichi is crying his eyes out - but unless he cleans up his act, that's what will probably happen.

Well I didn't hate Yuuichi before, but I'm starting to. He just seems so disrespectful in some aspects. Mainly aimed at Nayuki lol. The difficulty he gave her when she wanted her notes was just uncalled for. Meanwhile, I enjoy the antics between him and Makoto, even though that would come off as mean too. The only difference, I would guess, is that I wouldn't imagine Nayuki would slap Yuuichi with all her might. Woo Makoto!

Yes, yes you will ^^ ...or else feel the wrath of KyoAni, who sends sad girls covered in snow to all those who drop their series, only to have them kill you with poison tamagoyaki when you least expect it. Happened to my friend when he dropped AIR =D

I guess Kyuuichi is one of those hit-and-miss personalities - you either love him for his coolness and invulnerability, or you seem him as a jerk. Not unlike Suginami in that aspect, though such a personality is usually reserved for supporting characters.

Nevertheless, having such a main character does open up some new possibilities - there's some perverse pleasure in seeing an overinflated personality brought down to his knees. And the storyline does guarantee that he will be brought down a notch or two.

The question is - will I survive long enough to see Kyuuichi's fall?

Whoo! Another DC~ fan. I completely agree that that Nemu was a much more defined character than Ayu. After all she barely had any competition and the whole series was dedicated to building her as a more suitable choice than Sakura, Kotori...et al.

I also agree that Kanon isn't the best H-game adaptation of all time. There are many that stand atop it in terms of drama and plot.

However, I do think that it is the best in this fall season. Gift, while good, is looking like a remake of DC and lacks a lot of originality whereas Kanon is adding a lot more content compared to the original. This along with the improved animation and length make it superior to Gift or any other harem this season.

And finally, Kyon'ichi. This guy is my idol, he is a much better lead than Juunichi, who was often indecisive and mean. Whereas Kyon'ichi is sarcastic, funny, confident and only sometimes mean, but often with good cause.

In conclusion: Kanon = good, but not perfect. Nemu > Ayu but Kyon'ichi > Juunichi

Opinionated of course, but isn't everything.

Kyuuichi has regressed to the point where I am actually rooting for Ayu.

Through 5 episodes, it's certainly not living up to its hype. In the drama/romance genre, it's being lapped by Asatte no Houkou. Heck, it may not even be the best H-game/dating sim adaption of the season (Gift ~ Eternal Rainbow being the best of the rest).

Maybe, just maybe, the makers are going for the D.C. ~ Da Capo approach - go with inane, fluffy comedy for 15 episodes then bombard the viewer with non-stop heavy drama. Not sure whether this will work, however... considering Kyuuichi isn't quite as likeable as Jyunichi, and Ayu certainly isn't as well defined as Nemu.

Sure, he did get her book back eventually, but he sure put up a fight. Meanwhile Kyon picked up a heater in the winter too, and he had to walk up Hell Hill! So once again, Kyon > Kyonichi. Nayuki shouldn't even bother with him anymore, bah.

But Yuuichi does go back to school to get Nayuki's book for her. Not to mention it's the middle of the night in an winter environment.
