All the eccentricities are intentional rather than the failed attempts at comedy of other shows I've seen recently Crescent Love ep.4! The three heroines are all based off of archetypes that rarely ever hook up with the guy, and Aoba seems to have no childhood girlfriends or sister-figures around. It would probably be a first ever for the shy girl to win in an anime, though Yayoi actually stands an equal chance with the others (whereas imouto and osananajimi usually win by default).
