Hmm. Interesting analysis you put there. I'm going to cite this one as a primer in my personal commentary on the proliferation (and subsequent) popularity of traps in anime this Fall Season. That's how I value what you've done so far, as well as what Kurogane and Bjorn already did. :)

And I used Ouran there because it was fairly popular series, what I watched she was completely heterosexual.

Okay, maybe that missed few words. What I meant people accept that females use men clothes in real life so why male wearing skirt is different. I have seen more than few comments how male->female crossdressing is gay and that ouran example was how same logic would affect reverse way.

So I was thinking about it, and then I realized that I had a bit more exposure to reverse-traps than I thought. The only other reverse trap I can think of other than Haruhi would be from Mai-HiME. If anybody didn't watch that yet, feel free to steer clear from the rest of this paragraph =p But yes, Akira was the first. Hmm, I kind of liked that reverse trap, lol.

@Matte: Haha, don't worry, I'm sure many others fell into the Jun trap. I already knew about Jun beforehand though, which actually is the very reason I started watching Happiness!.
I'm fairly certain the archer twins are female, since Oboro is clearly male. And well, they had that night of "fun" after having too much sake, so I'm expecting female twins. I don't recall if they used "boku" or not, but in all fairness, Tsukimiya Ayu should use boku, and she's by no means a trap. And if somehow, KyoAni decides to make her a trap, then she's by FAR the best trap I have ever seen =( Uguu~
@lolikit: Traps indeed are awesome. I'm happy that there are 2 trap series this season, and I'm finding that I'm enjoying them quite a bit
@Ryan: Yeah, I realize it was long =p I just sat down, and started writing. Next thing you know, it got this long, but oh well. It's completely baseless, but my guess is that this is one of the longest posts about traps out there =p And I doubt any psychologist would want to waste time analyzing traps in anime, lol. I'm sure they have plenty of other important things to do
@Anga: I'm sorry... I don't quite understand? I haven't actually watched Ouran yet [it's buried deep in my massive backlog], but I don't understand how Haruhi is a lesbian. Isn't the whole premise that there's a reverse trap surrounded by guys, making it seem gay? So either it's hetero, going by Haruhi's supposed gender, or it's gay going by her drawing, right? How does lesbian come in? I probably just need to watch it >_< I'll eventually get to it, I swear.
As for real life reverse traps, I don't think that's a very big issue. I mean, tomboys aren't causing the decline in the world's population. However, I will admit that I've been fooled by tomboys before. That was freaky. I was looking at my friend's prom group pictures... and it was a picture of a huge bunch of girls with about 3 guys in it. Damn those guys were players... until I found out they weren't guys ;_; Yet they wore suits and ties and everything, no dresses o.o It was... a little strange. However, I can't say I've personally met a very convincing reverse trap.

"...that suggests the idea that the underlying reasoning behind homophobics thoughts and tendencies may be because the homopohbics are either in denial of being homosexual themselves, or that they have latent homosexuality."

Exactly... the whole trap thing seems to be bigger issue to those with strong "hate". And I wonder why I didn't see any posts about Ouran how FHaruhi is lesbian. Yeah, it sounds crazy because considering all the females wearing trousers in real life we would have serious problems with the amount of children born each year. =)

that was soo long. some psychologist needs to analyzing these things you say. I say 100% hetro and 100% homo. or we could just do the Schrodinger cat-box thing.

this needs a tree diagram for reference lol ^^

Damn, I should've taken notes as I forgot everything I was going to say. :P Anyway, I fell right into the Happiness! trap but I was more amused by it than anything else. I had the "ah, you got me you rascals" feeling and lol'd to myself when I realized. Also, I'm not so sure the twins from Utawarerumono were female in the anime either? I think I remember them refering to themselves as 'boku' or am I wrong? I see traps mostly as a fun gimick in the end, because what are the chances that you won't recognize a male in female clothing in real life? Slim to none, unless some 'enhancements' have been done. :)
